- Gold-filled chain is composed of a solid layer of 14ct gold (no less than 5% of the item's total weight) mechanically bonded to a base metal. This layer is 5 to 10 times thicker than regular plating & can be soldered with care. NOTE: With daily wear, gold-filled items can last 1 to 5 years but will eventually wear through.
